Antique Victorian silver plated conch shell design Ice Bucket and/or spoon warmer, having a hand-chased body; hinged lid opening, sitting on a rocky base with shell thumb-piece. This fine handmade silver plated spoon warmer measures approx. 5 high x 6.75 in overall length x 3.5 wide. Unmarked; circa 1870. Originally these collectibles were filled with boiling water and left on the table until ready to serve, assisting in keeping food warm in the chilly Victorian homes. Nowadays they are popularly used as flower holders, toothbrush holders, pen pots etc…An exceptional gift for that very special someone…including you!
