Hand-colored engraving from Alexander Wilson's "American Ornithology or Natural History of American Birds" (1808-1814). Wilson was born in Scotland, came to the United States, where he studied and illustrated birds; he is rightly considered the father of American Ornithology. The print depicts a group of warblers: Patinated Gions, Blue-green Warbler, and Nashville Warbler. It is matted and art-framed under glass. Sight size of the engraving is 13.25" x 10.75" W.
