Fabulous Pluma Azteca Aztec Chieftain Design Sterling Silver Brooch Pin; Marked: LOS CASTILLO TAXCO STERLING. Wonderful example of Chato's invention where sterling with cutouts is backed by colored feathers lacquered, sealed with a protective coating to the back of the brooch, and the cut-out warrior looks like a stained glass window. It is rare to find these Pluma Azteca (colored feathers) pieces with the beautiful rich colors still well preserved, as they are often quite faded from exposure and the passage of time.
