Winter Trees, oil on canvas by Ronald Davies (Montreal 1932-1982) Canadian artist, known for landscape paintings and wood carvings. Unframed 27.5” x 17.5” Framed 34.5” x 24.5” x 2” Davies started painting at the age of 14 years old. After finishing school he worked in his father's landscaping business but painting was his passion. He eventually left landscaping to pursue his true passion. He was taught by Arthur Lismer, one of the Group of Seven Artists and exhibited paintings in Montreal galleries. His mother opened Davies House of Paintings, a very successful Gallery in Montreal, where Ronald exhibited and sold his paintings; also exhibited at several New England art shows with great success selling and won many awards.
